Meredith Reid, Choir Music Director

As the choral director at Fort Scott Middle and High School, Meredith Reid oversees seven choral ensembles including 6th Grade Choir, 7th Grade Choir, 8th Grade Choir, Select Middle School Choir, Beginning Choir (freshmen), Concert Choir, and Select Ensemble. The Fort Scott choirs have a long-standing tradition of excellence and are highly supported by the community. Concerts are well attended, and students are asked to perform often at community events, including the annual Naturalization Ceremony hosted by the Fort Scott National Historic Site. Mrs. Reid is also the music director of the yearly school musical.

Additionally, Mrs. Reid provides one-on-one vocal coaching to many students in preparation for music contests and KMEA District and State Honor Choirs.

She teaches with a focus on solfege and music reading skills and has continued to incorporate technology as a part of student engagement.

Mrs. Reid has been a presenter at the annual Kansas Music Educators In-Service Workshop several times both on her own and with colleagues.

Mrs. Reid holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Kansas State University.
